DJ Twaza drops Testify with confidence

16 Feb 2020

Tlhwaafalang Tebogo, popularly known as DJ Twaza in showbiz, has dropped yet another album, Testify.

DJ Twaza, who started from humble beginnings in the streets of Majwaneng, realised his love for music from church and later ventured into disc jockeying in 2012 where he is currently a resident DJ on one of the Saturday shows at Duma FM.

His ability to compose music and write riveting lyrics has allowed him to shape a lane in music that only a few could dream of. With Testify, he has created a completely new sound, a deviation from his usual Kwaito Kwasa beats.

It is not hard to understand the name of the song or the coded message when one listens attentively, they can feel the energy of DJ Twaza’s raspy tone and the squeaking vocals of the vocalist.

Confirming the release of his single album on March 28 at Bojanala Waterfront, Twaza said he has been in the music industry since the age of 12. He explained that music to him was an art which he found to be a safe haven for him.

He said the album was produced by DJ TPZ and features different local DJs and South African ones among them Dj Bino and DJ Sunco.

He said he was currently focused on marketing the album and it was already available on different social media platforms.

“I want to push this album to 50 000 copies of sale and take it to Batswana, so I urge all Batswana to support local music and for artists to take their art seriously so that international industries can absorb us for collaborations and shows,” he said.

DJ Twaza said he has much hope for the album compared to his last offering dubbed Gaufi le Morena, which did not do well in the market due to financial problems. He said this time around, he has partnered with a security company for financial support. The album celebrates friendship and the beauty of life, with lyrics that capture the true essence of township life. ENDs
