13 Feb 2020

A new reality marriage talk show titled: Talking with the Thabas, will première on Botswana Television (BTV) on February 16.

Speaking in an interview, director and producer Ashley Thaba said the first season of the show will air every Sunday on the 7:30 pm prime-time segment, hosted by herself and her husband Percy Thaba.

“The show is an interactive 30 minutes session that discusses marriage issues in an age where the marriage institution has lost its significance,” she said.

Thaba said they were inviting the public into their private life, with the intention to share how they have managed to stay in a happy marriage for 16 years.

“We are not perfect but we hope our marriage lessons will offer practical advice to couples on issues such as communication, conflict resolution, in-laws and raising children,” she said.

She said the first season of the self-sponsored show had 20 episodes that would air for 13 weeks.

Talking with the Thabas was produced through her production company, Ashley Thaba Productions.

Thaba explained that the show provided an interactive session where the audience had been given the chance to ask her and Percy questions about their marriage.

She also added that the show was family-friendly, aimed at strengthening young families.

She said marriage was an enjoyable institution if couples worked together. ENDS
