Mogi dedicates debut gospel album to Orapians

10 Dec 2019

Mogi Aaron, a new kid on the block has dropped a debut gospel album, a single track album titled He said be still.

The song is dedicated to residents of Orapa and music lovers at large, and encourages them to be strong and to trust in God to turn their tears into smiles.

The 31-year-old Mogi started singing when she was 10-years-old at Pentecostal Protestant Church and she joined the church choir to drive her passion for music.

She dropped her single album this year and it was produced in South Africa where she stayed for five years for tertiary studies.

It was produced by Mqxobi Nxumalo of Zwide Publishing Stable. Mogi hails from Mahalapye and lives in Orapa.

The song, she said, was influenced by the hardships society went through in 2018 and 2019 such rising suicide statistics, passion killings and loss of jobs.

As such He said be still was composed to reassure and comfort those who underwent such a challenging journey of life.

The song talks about how God can heal people going through ‘stormy winds’ and those who have given up in life.

Mogi wants to be the voice to give people hope that they could persevere against the challenges they go through and succeed in achieving their future endeavours.

The album, though not yet in the market but in the digital platform, is expected to hit the airwaves soon.

Mogi is yet to see what the industry has in store for her and has not experienced any challenges yet since she is still new in the music industry.

However, she said she got a lot of support from Batswana and also from Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa where the album was produced.

She implored upcoming artists never to be demoralised by people’s negative opinions as that could kill their dreams, and urged them to follow their dreams if music was the profession they have envisioned. She said they should not expect to be praised and loved by everyone in the music industry.  Ends
