Presidents concert raises P100 000

The Mascom President’s Concert has raised P100 000 to be donated to a charity working with children.
Held at Maitisong in Gaborone under the theme; Focusing on Children, the concert showcased performances by Shanti Lo and Khoi San, as well as Bana ba Rona theatrical performance.
The Bana Ba Rona performance outlined challenges faced by children and highlighted the Sustainable Development Goals which are the blue print to achieve a better and sustainable future.
The performance highlighted the goals of no poverty, quality education, climate control and decent work and economic growth and SDGs amongst others. Maru-a-Pula Secondary School principal, Andrew Taylor noted that ‘children are an investment and within children there are hopes and dreams that determine their future.’
Shanti Lo mesmerised the audience with his hits that depict culture of Batswana as well as other African cultures, with regard to children welfare and development. Khoi San duo also gave their best performance and awed the audience with their dance moves.
Mascom President’s Concert, which is now in its 15th year is held annually to raise funds for children’ charity.
The charitable event was attended by Cabinet Ministers, MPs and various performing artists alongside other dignitaries. ENDS
