There was hype in the mining town over the weekend as Botswana Defence Force bands rocked Orapa sports hall with a stellar performance recently.

 Music revelers and Vice President Slumber Tsogwane, who graced the concert were treated to various cultural dance styles ranging from Kalanga dance, Phathisi and Sobeya. 

The cultural display was then wrapped up by dikhwaere.

The revelers’ mood got elevated when the jazz band played Sereetsi and the natives’ Mpopi.

The band did not disappoint as they commanded the revelers with the sizzling hot performance and who responded accordingly.

They also played wishes which was led by the band director, whose stunning performance left revelers eating from the palm of his hand.

The night was more electrified when one of the bands played HanC’s hit song, Se ileng se abo se ile which received a standing ovation and cheers from the revelers. 

It was followed by Lizibo’s Malebeswa. The bands’ attire matched the performance,  showing that the bands took the concert and the patrons seriously.

Another exciting  perfomance was a splash musical piece, Don’t follow me, through which the lead artist demonstrated his skill.

The revelers were also treated to a variety of fine tunes including It’s a choose day, Gata Kuseni and Heavely sent by Mikasa.

Tsogwane pledged P10 000 and the bands donated P25 000 to Ntlo ya Botsetsi Ssupport Group from Letlhakane, whose aim is to establish a shelter for expectant mothers from neighbouring villages awaiting delivery.

Northern Region Brigadier Joseph Seelo said the support they received from Orapa revelers was growing in leaps and bounds, adding that Orapa would remain one of their strategic partners.

The he said aim was to reach out to the greater population of Botswana as they had added more villages such as Masunga, Bobonong this year.

The charitable event has so far donated P6 million, and 19 beneficiaries identified to benefit 2018 proceeds which amounted to P440 0000. Ends
