Multitudes of music lovers in Serowe recently attended the 29^th presentation of BDF bands in concert style and enjoyed a wide range of musical styles.

The BDF bands played different genres of music live from string orchestra, accapella, disco, gospel, hip hop and rock and roll among others.   

The band fascinated the audience with their songs. The audience would scream and sing along when the BDF band sang the songs which they liked.

The band showed a lot of energy and engaged with the audience throughout the show .

When they sang Banjo Mosele’s Baboletse, Mpopi by Sereetsi, Seileng by Han-C and In your eyes by Peter Gabriel the audience went crazy and sang along.

Some of the attendants appreciated that BDF band never disappoints. They said that they always make sure that they attend the concert because the band gives them different types of music.

The concerts are part of the BDF’s corporate social responsibility programmes designed to give back to the community by assisting those in need.

The opening concert was held at Sir Seretse Khama barracks on November 8 followed by a concert in Serowe and will end in December 21 at Lobatse having covered 14 villages and towns around the country.

During the concert in Serowe the BDF donated P25 000 to SOS chidren’s village.

SOS children’s village is the non-governmental organisation focused on supporting children without parental care and families at risk.

In an interview, the board chairperson of SOS Botswana, Major General Bakwena Oitsile said he was grateful for the support that they got from BDF band in concert.

He however said that it was not the first time that they received donation from BDF band in concert and they regard themselves as one of the beneficiaries. 

He said the money would make a difference in their organisation. Ends
