Imagination key to success Harvey
22 Aug 2019
America’s media mogul, Steve Harvey has implored young people to use the power of imagination to create their own success.
Addressing youth at the town hall networking session at University of Botswana Sports Arena, Harvey said everything that was imagined was real, adding it was God’s way of showing a person their life’s preview.
As a result, he challenged the youth to write down their dreams and share them with people who could help them work on them to ensure that they become a reality.
Harvey cautioned young people against sharing their dreams with people who could kill them.
Having visualised his life when he was only 10-years-old, Harvey encouraged the youth not to be derailed by any person in their quest of making their dreams a reality.
Sharing how his dream of being in the entertainment industry started, Harvey, who once spoken with a stutter, said it was not easy as he was humiliated by his teacher for his vision.
However, he said he never gave up as he believed it was possible.
Harvey, who is a comedian, producer, television host, author, actor and motivational speaker highlighted that all those who were gifted should learn the principles of success.
Although he stressed the importance of education, he said not having qualifications should not a be a stumbling block as some people were successful without degrees.
For one to succeed in life, Harvey said they must have a dream and vision for that success, saying there was no school that offers a degree of success.
The 62-year-old, who at some point was homeless and out of a job, also motivated the youth to have faith, even if things were to become hard.
With a career experience of over two decades, Harvey implored young people to help President Masisi realise his passion of creating opportunities for them.
He said the networking session was a result of his meeting with President Masisi during the De Beers Diamond Conference in 2018 adding that he it took it upon himself to visit Botswana so as to play a role in creating a legacy for young people in Botswana.
He also called on youth who were content providers and social media influencers to send their proposals and ideas at globalsocial@steveharvey.com for job opportunities. ENDS
