One of the pioneers of the local stand-up comedy Bobo Letsatsi, fondly known as Ribcracker in funny circles has promised an outstanding comeback into the laughter scene.

Ribcracker will tonight make his first appearance in many months at a platinum laughter show dubbed Khomedi Ko Posh.

Following a two-year rough patch which resulted in his disappearing act on stage, the Mochudi-born funny man has now embarked on a mission to rejuvenate his reign as the king of comedy.

Like any other grown up person Ribcracker had to undergo life’s sunshine and shadows.

In his journey he has learnt to deal with tough life decisions and has not let life’s challenges get on his way.

Ribcracker developed a tough skin to overcome these challenges and now looks set to revive his illustrious career. 

Having stormed the comic scene in 2006, Ribcracker has worked with all and sundry.

Perhaps his biggest break was when he joined the Maitisong comedy club as a wet behind the ear comedian.

He soon impressed scouts and was invited to the Nu Breed comedy jam in Johannesburg where he received professional and intensive guidance in comedy.

This became the launching pad of his comedy career as he  kept the ball rolling, meeting experienced comedians in the mold of Modiri Kesabetswe affectionately known as Mod, and also grooming other upcoming comedians.

The biggest moment of Ribcracker’s career was when he rubbed shoulders with South African comedian Trevor Noah during the latter’s That’s Racist tour in Botswana.

His memorable performances include during the live-televised Orange Botswerere awards and Miss Botswana contest. 

He was also invited to be an MC for South African best accapella group The Soil.

The night comedy show has lined up some of the finest comedians in the region. Ribcracker will share the stage with Gabane-born multi award winning comedian Oefile Mokgware popularly known as Mawee. 

Mawee has an array of experience in the stand-up scene having performed in Pretoria, Rustenburg and Johannesburg amongst others.

The event will also feature Umbambi ‘Bambino’ Ndiwenyu. Renowned for his unmatched impersonation skills, Bambino has drawn crowds to many comedy shows locally through his unique dress sense and signature hat. 

He is an animated comedian with a good command of several languages. 

He has already taken his talent beyond comedy to poetry and dance.

The lineup will also feature Richard Kayoka who just broke into the scene, thanks to his president’s day holiday exploits. 

The Kavimba-born comedian has also created a Facebook character known as Vhalloyd. Closing the highly billed lineup is Zimbabwean funnyman Brain Sibanda. The event will take place at the Platinum Hotel in Tlokweng. ENDS
