Moshaga leaves BOMU

Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) chairperson, Taolo Moshaga has stepped down from his position, into which he was appointed last year.
Speaking in an interview Moshaga said he was leaving at his own free will to allow young leaders and others to lead the union.
“I am highly confident on the entering committee’s capability and I would urge all artists to humble themselves and support those in leadership. I would like to personally thank Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture Development (MYSC), and other stakeholders for having supported BOMU in the past years,’’ he said.
Moshaga who was instrumental in the formation of the union in 2000, aimed at enhancing the sustainability and growth of the entertainment industry in the country through protection of intellectual property rights and provision of professional support services for the benefit of all the stakeholders in the industry.
He also stated that he was no longer a BOMU member and urged artists to invest more time and resources in survival and personal development such as further studies.
"Stepping down will also give the me time to channel my energy on other commitments because I am a businessman,” he said. ENDS
