Masa Gardens in Rasesa will host the first ever family picnic this Saturday.

The event organiser, Thokozile Ratsatsi known as Dj Thoko said the event intends to bring families together in a fun and joyful setting.

He said the Masa Family Picnic aims at promoting a family oriented social gathering, where elders get to socialise, while children play together.

DJ Thoko said parents spend most of their time at work, while children were at school with teachers or at home with helpers.

This, he said affects families as the bond between parents and children was destroyed causing bad behaviour and miscommunications.

He said he hopes the event would become an annual thing so as bring families together.

The activities of the day include music by different DJs, horse riding, free face painting, rodeo bull, swing, stilt walkers and many more.

DJ Thoko also mentioned that families would also get an opportunity to take part as a team in tug of war and sack races for communication purposes.

He said there would be braai and food stalls adding that security would be tight.
