Dube thrills worshippers

28 Apr 2019

The show, which could be better described as an atmosphere of worship saw gospel fanatics or rather worshippers demanding more from gospel maestro and pastor, Benjamin Dube at Limkokwing Hall on Saturday night.

Although the show started on a low note with local gospel groups failing to appease the audience, a step into the hall by Benjamin Dube proved otherwise as he totally changed the atmosphere. Pastor Benjamin Dube’s stage presence commanded authority and indicated how experienced, anointed and talented he is as he was able to turn what was a slow show into one which was charactereterised by dancing, praise and worship.

He started with the songs from his old album, I Feel Like Going on which was released in 2000.

He continued with the other songs from his many albums with songs such as Thel’ Umoya and to more popular such as Lona ba ratang go phela.

Songs like Uyahalalela, Ngiyakuthanda, Elshadai Adonaih, Oh How I Love Him gave the revellers a chance to reconnect with their creator as they had no choice but to lift up their hands in total surrender and worship.

As a preacher of the word of God Benjamin Dube also encouraged people to trust in the Lord and to worship him; something that brought a twist into his show as it clearly indicated that it was not about songs only but also about acknowledging God as well as spreading His word.

Towards the end of the show Benjamin Dube performed songs from his latest album Victorious In Presence with songs like He Keeps On Doing and Yiwo Lawa Amandla.

Though the show, which was organised by Gospel Is Alive was well organised, it had teething problems as some revellers had to stand on their chairs to watch the show. One of the revellers, Kagiso Kalaentle said the organisers should have elevated the stage to cate for all. Another reveller, Kadimo Mogakaetsi advised organisers to look for a better venue when they host such events. ENDS
