Botswana Exporters & Manufacturers Association (BEMA) CEO, Mmantlha Sankoloba has commended Tlotlo Conference Centre for being the major sponsor of The
Melody Gospel TV show both financially and with a venue for six months.
When giving a key note address at an event to unveil the sponsor, Sankoloba said Tlotlo had set an example for other entities.
She said the creative industry, through singing competitions like Melody Gospel TV Show, has the potential to create employment.
“It is through the initiative set by Tlotlo that Botswana can have international stars that can compete globally and fly the country’s flag high,” she said.
Sankoloba noted that The Melody Gospel TV Show has a talent objective to promote societal stability, by ensuring the youth are occupied with positive leisure activities as well as winning souls to God. She further said the youth of Botswana must be encouraged to invest more in their art, noting that she was aware that talent search competitions faced serious financial challenges.
She said BEMA was committed to supporting the export development of arts despite the many existing competing needs.
The Melody Gospel TV Show, which was born in 2016, has seen growth as a brand, with a large viewership.
It has offered a helping hand to the Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted of Kopong, donations of cement to the Early Childhood Trust in Sefhophe and the Lamp Followers Gospel Apostolic Church in Mogoditshane.
Tlotlo Conference Centre’s managing director, Antonia Majinda said her company was proud to sponsor a Christian entity and urged Christians to support others in their endeavour to preach the gospel for the salvation of those not yet saved.
Majinda encouraged those running The Melody Gospel TV Show to work hard and bring souls to God’s kingdom through singing.
Meanwhile, The Melody Gospel TV Show executive producer Pagson Tsie said it started as a charity organisation with a team of youngsters who were passionate about giving back to the community. ENDS
