DJ Gouveia back with Ngirozi

17 Apr 2019

It is often said that musicians do not retire, but stop when there is no music in them.

Well, whoever said Gouveia Mutasa, known as DJ Gouveia, has retired is in for amazing things.

Just last week, radio stations were ablaze courtesy of the newly released song by the renowned RB2 disk jockey and presenter, titled Ngirozi.

In an interview recently, DJ Gouveia said it was always ideal to take time when working on a project to perfect it.

This, he said, was the reason he took a break after releasing Falling in Love where he featured Rhythmic Elements from South Africa in 2018.

According to the DJ cum producer, Ngirozi translates to An Angel.

Ngirozi, he said, was an old folk song from Zimbabwe which he produced in collaboration with Dubblin of DNX Records.

The duo then decided to revamp it into a gospel dance song.

As soon as the song begins, one is shaken by the cadence melody of the instruments that sets one to the velvety voiced singer, Dubblin, who has written and performed the lyrics of the song.

“The gospel song is asking God in Heaven to send down an angel so that we are helped from hardships of this world,” he said.

DJ Gouveia further said the song was more spiritual than his previous offerings.

When listening to Ngirozi, there is no doubt as one flows with the dulcet composition of the song that we get reminded of one of the DJs remarkable song Tino Mudana, except that this time around Ngirozi exposes the witty side of the DJ.

He said the song was available online for all his fans to access, including on all platforms such as bwmade platform.

He said a 15 track album was ready for release featuring the likes of Dr Tawanda, Dubblin, O’Neal James, Rythmic Elements, Fhifhi Africa and Lizibo, just to name but a few.

As his musical journey continues touching the lives of many people, DJ Gouveia said his future plan was to collaborate with Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Vusi Mahlasela, Alfredo Mos, Socca Moruakgomo and Zola amongst many others. ENDS
