Apostle Morapedi pens religious book

26 Mar 2019

Religious leaders are known for sharing the word of God using different mediums including preaching in churches, public squares and on television in an effort to reach out to as many people as they can.

However, 39-year-old Apostle Lucky Morapedi from Tati Siding has decided to join the bandwagon by penning a religious book titled Darkness Will Not Comprehend the Light.

Darkness Will Not Comprehend the Light is a 51-page religious book published by Printing and Publishing Botswana.

The book has seven chapters that are dedicated to discussing and explaining the spiritual world in their different forms. The discussions, which are short and precise, are supported by biblical quotes from King James Version, New King James version and the New Living translation as referenced in the book.

In an interview recently, Morapedi, who is the founder and leader of The Way of Holiness Ministry in Tati Siding, said he was inspired to write the book by his own experiences and his discoveries as a young religious minister.

Born in the mining town of Selebi Phikwe, Morapedi said he had a troublesome childhood growing up as a kid, which among others, included alcohol abuse, which led to a series of infringements of the law.

However, later as he found his way into the religious life, he did not look back and decided to commit his life to Christ. With time as he grew under the guidance of his religious principals, he went on to experience a new life as a minister of the word of God.

This turnaround and transformation in his life, therefore, he explained, compelled him to write a book through, which he sought to explain how the spiritual world worked. In his own experiences from a troubled young person to a believer he is today, his work seek to contribute to the religious community and is also targeted at the non-believers.

“The book seeks to reveal to people the spiritual bondages that afflict people. Sometimes people ask themselves how and why some things happen. Through this book, I tried to explain to them afflictions that may be holding them and maybe as they read this book they may find answers to some of the afflictions,” explained Morapedi.

As a religious minister, he explained that sometimes it was not enough to just preach in the comfort of churches. Therefore, as he has the zeal to write, he took it upon himself to write the book.He mentioned that everything in the book was derived from the bible scriptures that he had consulted, hence he quoted some of them to support what he wrote.

Furthermore, he said his hope was that as readers go through his book, it would positively impact on their lives.

He explained that Christianity as a religion had a role to promote good morals in people and should also strive to promote peace and stability within humanity. The book, he noted, was therefore, his contribution in that regard.

“The greatest achievement would be helping and changing people’s lives as they read this book. In one chapter titled Causes of Forces and Afflictions, I tried to explain participation in the works of idols in all their existence,” he said.

He said some people were not even aware that they were taking part in those activities, even against their wishes. The religious man explained that what led people into some of these activities was lack of information, something which he was trying to address in his book.

He also noted that while many Christians were obliged to live for Christ, some still took part in cultural practices opposed to the religion. In that way, he observed that this created confusion to many people and hoped his book had tried to explain all these issues.

So far, he explained that he was content with the feedback the book was enjoying. He said since the book was available on Amazon. ENDS
