Lesego releases gospel album

New comer in the music industry, Lesego Ikgopoleng of Heavenly Grace International Church, has released an album dubbed Looking unto God.

The 42-year-old, who hails from Ghanzi and with no record on in the music field, revealed that she was part of the praise and worship team at church and it was through the experience and God’s grace that she managed to release the album.

In fact, she said the album came as a vision in January 2018 during a fasting week in Garankuwa, South Africa. This, she said compelled her to record songs in her phone in form of choruses and together with instrumentation, which made a complete song and thereafter meditated on the the song to add the lyrics.

Prior to the release of the full album, she said in August 2018 she released a single called, I believe, and its message was derived from John 14, which says ‘Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me’.

Furthermore, she said it was meant to draw people close to God and teach them that they should praise and seek him all the time through thick and thin.

She explained that through the single she wanted to introduce herself to the market.

The eight-track worship album opening song, You make a way was composed to make people aware that ‘when things are tough people should turn to God because he is the saviour’.

The second track, I am she said was meant to encouage people to praise God anytime and anywhere. 

Other songs in the album such as Moya is all about the way the Christians, preachers of the word of God degrade the almighty by preaching in a negative way while they are supposed to be lead the followers of God.

Other songs in the album are Arrive and shine, Holy Spirit, Lord I give you my heart and Kealeboga.

She said the albums message was to educate people to know God in depth devote their lives to him because having a personal relationship with him makes everything possible.

Furthermore, she said she believed that the album would change the life of the people and the way preachers of word of God administer it.

Her manager, Apostle McDonald Ikgopoleng thanked Tshepo Lesole for the support, mentorship and production of quality songs.

He also highlighted that after presenting the album at RB2, they had received positive response and people were placing orders and they intended to visit other radio stations.

In terms of distribution, he said they were planning to distribute the album to other church branches and they had printed a manageable number of copies.

The album was produced and recorded by Tshepo Lesole at High Note Entertainment in Gaborone. ENDS
