Local leading male model, Emmanuel Kayenda will bring a fashion spectacle in Gaborone on Saturday(March 30).

Through his 45 minutes with Emmanuel Kayenda fashion programme, the Cape Town-based model, will host a fashion talk led by fashion experts on a topic; building a fashion brand.  

The discussion brings together an audience of local designers and models, fashion photographers, bloggers and local fashion influencers in a symposium setup and their discussions will range from commercialising talent and skills, fashion market, building a fashion brand in Botswana and challenges and successes of fashion business in Africa among others.

Fashion experts expected to lead the panel include Botswana’s female model signed in South Africa Thabang Mmolotsi, Black Trash Designs, which is a local leading fashion label and South African top fashion designer, David Tlale as well as Sindisiwe Shangase.

Briefing the media on Thursday, Kayenda promised an eventful day full of fashion advice and tips that would help local fashion designers and models to develop their craft.

He said the aim of the spectacle was to improve the local fashion industry adding that he intend to give local fashion patrons a platform to showcase their talents.

Also, he said the programme allowed for the exchange of skills and knowledge, not only within the country, but also outside its borders.

He said the initiative could promote culture and had the potential to expose Botswana’s fashion style to the world, hence advocating for fashion tourism.

The fashion talk show will be held at BTV Auditorium and will be followed by a red carpet fashion show in the evening at BLACK restaurant in Gaborone. ENDS
