Alliance Francaise awards winners
20 Mar 2019
The Alliance Francaise has recognised 16 students who participated in the French writing competition.
The competition, which required students to recite a French poem about France, attracted 37 students and only 16 qualified to the next round, where the top five were awarded prizes.
Second placed, Warona Monareng, a Form 5 student at Ledumang Senior School, indicated that she started learning French at junior school, adding that it was just an impulsive decision at first, but eventually she grew to like the language.
Warona said her career path was along the lines of international relations and/or motivational speaking.
As such, she said French would assist her a great deal in her career path.
She advised other learners, who were still hesitant to study French to give it a chance.
Winners of the competition were awarded P1 000, P800, P500, P300, and P200 for first to fifth prize in that order.
First prize went to Lebatwaeng Modisathebe.
The competition was sponsored by France Botswana Business Club. ENDS
