Modelling agency joins fight against gender based violence

Francistown-based modelling outfit, Beverly Models Agency has in the wake of growing incidents of violence across the country, joined scores of activists in raising awareness on gender based violence (GBV).
The founder of agency, 23-year-old, Bokani Mosiiwa said in an interview that by all intents and purposes, the idea to speak strongly against GBV was to show a sense of responsibility on the part of the agency that was doing business in the community, which was affected by the phenomenon.
Already, he said they have held their first event that addressed physical violence in Francistwon last year.
The event, he said fared well considering the fact that it was the first of its kind in Francistown adding that lessons were learnt on the day.
Thus, he said the concept would help set Beverly Models Agency apart from other agencies in town.
Mosiiwa pointed out that he was happy with the feedback his agency has been getting in their efforts to fight GBV from individuals and government departments alike saying it clearly indicated that their noble objective was not only headed in the right direction but would help bring on board potential sponsors.
“Our motive is to be different from other modelling agencies. We want to be more than just fashion and cameras but to positively impact the society that we live in,” he said of the agency that was formed in 2017 and has about 21 models.
He further said fashion shows could also be used as a vehicle to share messages on GBV as most the event attracted a lot of people. ENDS
