20 Feb 2019

Little Miss World princess, Katlego Mosweu will compete at the Little Miss Princesses of the world in Bulgaria in June.

Mosweu will be with another participant, 14-year-old Tlhomamo Maiketso, who is doing Form Two at Legae Academy.

This was revealed at an event hosted to appreciate Mosweu in Gaborone on February 19, which was graced by First Lady Neo Masisi.

Meanwhile, Mosweu, who is doing Standard Seven at Phakalane Primary School, said   confidence was key if one aims to win a beauty pageant.

Twelve-year-old Mosweu encouraged her peers to work hard with confidence if they aspire to excel. Also, at the event was Minister of Basic Education, Bagalatia Arone, who said learning would not be complete if focus was only on academics.

He said they would have failed children if they do not allow extra-curricular activities, which could take care of non-academic potentials and interests,

He added that developing a child was a holistic process.

Arone pointed out that government was in the process of ensuring that all schools were connected to ICT, as part of the transformation strategy.  For her part, Mascom chief communications officer, Tebogo Lebotse Sebego said the company started supporting the initiative in 2016.

To date, she said they had supported the pageant with a total of P86 500 as they saw it as an opportunity to continue fostering one of their community mandates in developing arts and culture in Botswana. ENDs
