African Attire on Fleek to celebrate beauty creativity
17 Feb 2019
With the popularity of African fashion in the showbiz industry, Colorful People Entertainment will host a picnic to showcase the dress style.
The picnic termed African Attire on Fleek, scheduled for March 2 is about celebrating beauty and African creativity through clothes.
In an interview, one of the organisers, David Letshwiti said the idea was inspired by the current mushrooming of themed lifestyle events around the country.
As a creative, he said he had observed how people dressed at some events and realised that there was a gap in African style.
African Attire on Fleek, Letshwiti said seeks to erase the perception that African or traditional clothing should be worn at traditional functions like weddings, traditional family gatherings and/or cultural shows only. He said African Attire on Fleek is not a cultural event, but a lifestyle ading that urban African designed attires would be the order of the day amongst the patrons.
The show to be held at Bojanala Waterfront, he said would not only feature dress, but local and international artistes would spice up the day.
Expected to perform during the day are Lizibo, who has recently released a smash hit single Di Out, Dr Vom, Mafitlhakgosi, Sebaga and many others alongside South African Simmy of Umahlalela.
Tickets for the event are sold at P200 and food stalls will be available. ENDs
