2019 YAMAs reflect rebirth growth
27 Jan 2019
The 5th Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAs) are about growth, networks, personal equity and commercialising artists’ networks, says Yarona FM station manager, Kelly Ramputswa.
Themed Retro 5, Ramputswa said this year’s awards are about reflection, rebirth and growth.
She noted that with 68 entries and 18 categories this year compared to 15 categories when the YAMAs started, it showed that the station was a brand that continuously grows.
In expanding local artists’ current networks, Ramputswa indicated that this year they were rolling out a springboard for growth beyond the artists’ current exposure.
She said they were commercialising and exposing them to personal growth strategies.
As part of the personal growth and artists branding, Yarona FM will run artists workshop prior to the awards hosted by the legendary Oskido.
Ramputswa indicated that the workshop would help expose both local and international artists on length, breadth and strength of diversity when designing personal brand architecture.
She also said the workshop would help artists in developing and increasing a fan base, and have a sustainable business for growth and exposure in the music industry.
The YAMAs will be held on February 2. Voting lines closed on Saturday(January 26). ENDS
