Artiste spreads message through music

Onthusitse Monnawapula known as ‘SHE-Massive’ in the music industry has released a Kwasa Kwasa album, dubbed Accidents.

Maun-based musician revealed in an interview that the album, which had six tracks, was his first production.

He said it was released in November, adding that the main message was about road accidents, which continue to threaten people’s lives.

Monnawapula, who was a victim of road accident, said he wanted to spread the safety message and encourage road users to use the road cautiously.

Some of the songs in the album include Bojanala, Gosa, Malwetsi which he said carried a message aimed aon fighting social ills in the society.

Monnawapula said the album had already hit the market and well received by his fans.

“My album was released at the right time when people are preparing for the festive season,” he said.

The vibrant artiste encouraged the youth to utilise their talents and create employment for themselves and others instead of looking up to government for assistance.

Monnawapula has engaged four dancers and one singer and intends to increase the numbers as time goes on saying he was doing his part to empower the youth.

Asked what inspired him to join the music industry, he explained that he loved singing from a young age adding that he also had the opportunity to work with Kwasa Kwasa stars in the likes Tumelo Modise aka Tumza.

He said the industry was faced with many challenges of piracy and lack of funding.

As a result, he had encouraged artistes especially newcomers to face the challenges head on.

He said they should not be discouraged but rather turn challenges into opportunities. ENDS
