Khutshwane upbeat on Miss Africa

The new Miss Independence, who was crowned on the eve of Independence Day, has promised Batswana good representation during the envisaged Miss Africa scheduled for Nigeria this month.
The third year general nursing student at Institute of Health Sciences (HIS), said in a interview that she was bracing herself for the next assignment, where she would compete with other contestants from the rest of Africa.
Despite the fact that Miss Independence 2018, which was held at Cresta Lodge, was moderately attended, all went well and nobody raised serious issues concerning the adjudication process.
Khutshwane won P10 000, followed by Khumo Galefele with P6000 while Marang Phuthegelo won P4000.
The queen was selected among the top 10 from initial 20 contestants. She then proceeded to top three where she snatched the top prize.
Contestants displayed variety of cultural practices and customs of various tribes in the country, a move which was welcomed by many.
This P250 prized event, reminded some of the patrons their roots since the contestants displayed their roles and talent, much to the delight of the crowd.
