 Twelve contestants from Dimajwe, Majwanaadipitse, Malatswai and Sehunou participated in the Miss RADP 2018 beauty contest for Serowe Administrative Authority recently.

Letlhogonolo Motsomelo, 23, from Malatswai emerged the winner, seconded by Kemelo Thuwe, 22 of Majwanaadipitse while Onkagetse Molathiwa aged 23 also from Malatswai was crowned second princess. 

   Speaking at the event, Local Enterprises Authority business advisor, Tsholofelo Aaron said the pageant was aimed at promoting inclusiveness of previously disadvantaged communities in development activities while at the same time increasing participation of young women from rural areas in preserving culture and building their self-esteem. 

Aaron said without adequate human, technical and financial support in such areas, provision of accurate, timely and reliable services would not be possible.

She assured contestants that government was committed to supporting remote area communities and mainstream them to the rest of Batswana. 

Aaron encouraged contestants to get out of their comfort zones and spread their wings. 

She said they should knock on every door and at relevant offices to get assistance that would help them better their lives.
