A family fun day held at Tonota on Saturday has been hailed as successful.

This was revealed by the event founder, Letso Lesaba in an interview after the event, which was their first to host.

He said attendance at the event, which was dubbed Tonota Carnival was impressive.

He explained that the main objective of the event was to bring families together to have a day full of fun and activities.

“About 100 children and 50 parents took part in this event. Since it was our first time to host this event, I remain optimistic that the event would grow bigger and better as we introduce more activities,” he said.

Among other activities at the event were horse riding, talent show, and life skills training for the children, luncheon, business stall exhibitions.

The event also provided a platform for the business community to market their products.  

Lesaba pointed out that the event also played a role in the well-being and moulding the children into responsible pillars of the nation.

He explained further that the nation was concerned with the unbecoming behaviour of the youth hence the need for them as communities to have join efforts in instilling good morals to the kids from grass roots level.

Lesaba added that he plans to host the event twice in a year as it could play a positive role in moulding the children as well as encouraging friendship and unity among families. BOPA
