Joyous Celebrations thrills Batswana

Revellers thronged the UB Indoor Sports Centre on August 25, to witness the amazing and thrilling performance by Joyous celebrations in a night dubbed Life Changing Concert. The show, which started on a high note attracted fans from all over the country.
When Joyous Celebrations ascended to the stage there was an uproar from the audience, who had eagerly waited for them.
Although it was not hard for the group to stir the audience, a portion of the crowd was still to see if they would indeed light up the sports centre as promised by event organisers, Brave Heart.
A blend of spectacular lighting and quality sound and a well orcherstrated songs kickstarted the show and grabbed the audience attention with a line-up that was combined with both worship and praise songs as well as different songs from both their recent album and the previous ones.
One of the tunes, which kept audience on its toes were Andisiwa Mbatsha’s Modimo and Modimo a le teng.
Throughout the show, Batswana seemed more connected to Setswana songs hence they displayed enthusiasm when such songs were performed.
One of the reveler who call himself a staunch Joyous Celebrations’s supporter said the reason they were so connected to Setswana songs was because they understood the launguage better.
However, he said they also enjoyed other songs in Isizulu and Isixhoza.
A performance by Mthuzi Namba with songs such Lord I can feel you presence in this place and Le satane brought back the retro Joyous celebrations performances allowing the audience to experience both the old and current catering for all of generations.
The songs, which date back to 1999 brought back incredible memories to people like Pearl Makgotla (55), who said that it reminded her how far Joyous Celebrations has come.
She added that the consistency displayed by the group should be a vital lesson for all aspiring musicians who would like to be established and well celebrated brand like Joyous Celebrations.
Both the young and old were catered for as both identified with songs from a different eras.
But some of the younger generation only wanted songs from the group’s latest album; Joyous Celebrastions 22.
Worship medley such as The Blood of Jesus and Cover Me Lord by Mthuzi Namba were a hit with the audience.
Visually impaired, Tshepo Nkadimeng’s songs, Jesu lentswe la gago ke lesedi, Jesu ke Mmoloki, O a Halalela and Lentswe la Moriti also mesmerised the revellers.
The group however saved the best for last as it performed popular songs towards the end of the show.
Modimo ke lerato by Psalmist Sefako left revelers wanting for more despite the fact that the show was almost over.
The group closed the how with Sibusiso Mthembu’s Wenzile and the entire entire audience took to the floor to showcase different dance moves. Ends
