Fifteen-year-old with four books to her name

Hard work is an important aspect scholars should consider more viable at their first stage of schooling as they do not know what the future holds for them.

At the age of 15, Ontlametse Selema has already displayed some kind of hard work as she has written four books that collected poems, fairy tale story, realistic fiction and humor/drama.

The young astute girl said her passion for writing came while doing Standard Seven after reading Danielle Steel’s book The Kiss.

To keep her dream alive and try her ability in writing in the year 2016 while doing Form one level at Mosetlha Junior secondary School in Bobonong, she wrote her first poetry book titled My destiny is in my hand.

The Bobonong born added that the year 2017 was turning point of things as she came up with other three book collections which included Lost Souls, Friction and Life through Ontlametse’s eyes.

Onty as she is affectionaly called, explained that her teachers from Mosetlha Junior Secondary School helped her to edit her books free of charge.

“For a person to become a writer on an author, he or she must have a nose of stories and good eye observation of everyday lives and what and how the turning point was becomes”, she said.

She explained that life issues perpetrated her stories, highlighting that relationships break ups and marriage broken vows were some of the examples.

Selema emphasised that it was important for people to look out for her books as they provided guidance and counseling and also entertainment.

She explained that the sky was not the limit as the passion for writing was running in her veins.

The talented young lady said that time was a big challenge as most of it was consumed by school work.

Selema advised other students to spend their spare time on doing things that could benefit and take them somewhere in life rather than to waist it. ENDS
