Tsammala preserves Sebirwa culture

After emerging in position three at the just ended President Day competitions in Gaborone, Tsammala traditional dance group are on the verge of ensuring that Sebirwa culture is preserved and taken to greater heights.

Formed last year, the group passed through regional Presidential competitions held in Bobonong and went on to participate in the Sebirwa traditional songs and dance category with heavy weights such  as Mafitlhakgosi of Gaborone and Motloping of Mabolwe.

Speaking in an interview, Tsammala traditional group spokesperson, Kesegofetse Molefi said the 28-member group was aimed at preserving the Sebirwa culture and to reduce unemployment among the youth.
She called on Babirwa, especially the youth, to embrace their culture as it gave them identity.

Molefi thanked government for initiating the President’s Day competitions as they have assisted in reducing unemployment and unearthed talent among the youth. Ends
