Women have been encouraged to be bold and fearless in the face of adversity. Broadcaster and RB 2 presenter, Tebogo Sekgoma said this during a women’s high tea hosted by MmaMotse Glow Events under the theme: The bold and the beautiful.’

Sekgoma encouraged women to put no limits in their thinking and destiny. She recounted the loss of her husband after being married for hardly a year and the loss of her sight.

“It is dark. It is pitch dark and there are days when I am done, ” she said.  

However, she said she chose not to dwell on the negatives but to focus and celebrate what she had. She further said God was the architect of our destiny and that adversity helped one to see he was there.

“Grab your destiny against all odds, ” she encouraged.

Another motivational speaker, Snow Mabutho, who survived the trauma of being molested as a child and as a grown woman, also encouraged women to be bold and fearless.

Mabutho said she had to overcome and confront her fears of talking about being molested as a child.

“You cannot heal your wounds unless you confront your fears,” she advised.

She further told the women that she had to find healing and make peace with her memories in order to move on with her life.

She encouraged them to recharge themselves and face their fears.

Event organiser, Daphney Phama said she planned to empower women, showcase support for local women in business and help women contribute to the development of the community.
