Lobatse leadership appreciates beef festival

The annual Lobatse International Beef festival (LIBF), which was held on June 30 has without doubt become one the events revellers look forward to each year.
Lobatse deputy district commissioner, Kolobetso Sejakgomo said in an interview that the town leadership appreciated the event.
Such event, she said were a sign that the business community recognised the town as an investment destination.
She said the event boosted the economy of the town and provided a platform for local businesses to grow.
LIBF has been in existence for six years and its organiser, Barolong Seboni said it had grown in leaps and bounds and had inspired similar events around the country.
However, Seboni said LIBF was not intimidated by the competition.
“We are not really worried because you can copy, but you cannot replicate and duplicate.
We are not worried but flattered and only hope they will do it properly so that the name of the event stays above board,” he said..
Regarding challenges encountered, Seboni said financial sponsorship was a huge concern to LIBF and other entertainment events.
He appealed to corporates and businesses alike to come on board and support them.
Also, he said he wishes that Botswana Tourism Organisation could come on board since the event promoted tourism.
Letshego, Coca Cola Africa, Bokomo sponsored LIBF in partnership with Lobatse Town Council, the district commissioner’s office and Botswana Police. Ends
