Etsha man loses money to scammers

olice in Gumare are investigating a case in which a 62-year-old man of Etsha 1 was scammed P15 000 on Monday by people claiming he had won a voucher from one local supermarket.
In an interview with BOPA, the Commander of Gumare Police Station, Superintendent Chenamo Orateng said the victim gave his banking details to the scammers who called him claiming that he won a P10 000 voucher and lost his money in the process.
Supt Orateng cautioned the public to guard against falling prey to such scams by not entertaining such callers, and never to divulge their banking details.
He said such cases were worrisome because they were happening across the country. ENDS
