CHOBE ENCLAVE CENTRAL BYE-ELECTION COMMENCES

The bye-election for Chobe Enclave Central ward under Chobe constituency has commenced.
The bye-election follows the death of Botswana Democratic Party council candidate, Mooketsi Jani, who died after winning the ward during the 2024 general elections.
Polling stations at Kachikau Primary school, Leswaani 1 Junior Secondary school, Kachikau kgotla and Savuti wildlife camp all opened on time and are expected to close at 7pm.
Five council candidates contesting for the council seat are Ms Ratanang Sarefu of the Umbrella for Democratic Party, Mr Disho Bafedile of the Botswana Democratic Party, Ms Gasetime Sefela of the
Botswana Congress Party, Mr Francis Maome of the Botswana Patriotic Front and independent candidate, Mr Darkie Setlhare.
