ZCC members embark on Easter pilgrimage

This time, the congregation is taking precautions, opting for 16 cars and a 16-seater combi instead of a bus. Molepolole branch congregation secretary, Mr Phillip Sebifo assured the nation in an interview that the route would be different, and safety measures like traveling in a convoy would be employed. Even with these measures, the emotional scars of the tragedy are still fresh, and some families are hesitant to return, including the mother of the only surviving child, Ms Gaolebale Siako.
“We have decided to keep our daughter from going until she is emotionally stable,” she said.
Ms Siako stated that she remained cautious with her daughter whom despite the trauma, was doing well.
“She has closed off any conversation about the accident, and that’s okay. It will take time for her to recover fully,” said Ms Siako.
The ZCC St Engenas Molepolole Branch is uncertain if there will be a memorial service for the deceased congregants during their pilgrimage, and await guidance from the church officials in Moria. ENDS
