Clinic and health posts were transferred from the Ministry of Health to that of Local Government and Traditional Affairs in their current maintenance state.

Responding to a question from MP for Tati East, Mr Tlhabologo Furniture on the deplorable conditions of Ditladi Health Post, the Assistant Minister of Health Mr Lawrence Ookeditse explained that councils would embark on a comprehensive assessment of all health facilities under their control, develop a prioritised maintenance list and work to bring them to an acceptable status. 

He added that the health ministry would also transfer budget that had been allocated for maintenance of clinics to the respective councils following the takeover in April 1. He said budgetary constraints in recent years contributed to the maintenance backlog and some of the current deficiencies in the facilities including Ditladi Health Post. 

Mr Furniture had wanted to know how the minister intended to rectify the deplorable conditions of Ditladi Health Post. ENDS
