The Assistant Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship, Mr Baratiwa Mathoothe has said the allocation of 1300 plots in Kumakwane is anticipated in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2025/26. Responding to a question in Parliament recently on behalf of the Minister of Lands and Agriculture, he said this followed the successful acquisition of 131 hectares of land in January 2025. He explained that the base mapping stage, which followed acquisition and served as the initial phase to identify the actual land capable of providing suitable plots, would commence in April 2025. Mr Mathoothe said that the planned allocation period had taken into account all stages of the land delivery process, including base mapping, detailed layout and associated consultations, surveying, and uploading into the Land Information System. MP for Thamaga/Kumakwane, Mr Palelo Motaosane asked when the ministry would allocate plots in Kumakwane. ENDS
