Some villages within Shashe West constituency were serviced by Tonota District due to the fact that they are physically within the district.

Answering a question in Parliament on Tuesday on behalf of the Minister of Lands and Agriculture, the Assistant Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship, Mr Baratiwa Mathoothe said that Matsitama, Jamataka, Mathangwane and Makobo were within the Tonota District. 

He said the ministry had not received any representation from the district requesting for the relocation of land board services of those villages from Marapong Sub-Land Board to Tonota Sub-Land Board.

“I am aware that these villages receive other services at Tonota Sub-Land Board. 

On that basis, I agree that there is a case for the alignment of the district services if necessary,” he said.  

Shashe West MP, Mr Jeremiah Frenzel had asked the minister as to when services at Matsitama, Jamataka, Mathangwane and Makobo will be relocated to Tonota Sub-Land Board so as to bring services closer to people.ENDS
