Invasion Botswana tackles GBV

The third annual Tebogo Moloi Invasion Botswana gospel music concert billed for Gaborone on April 5 will address Gender Based Violence (GBV) that is bedeviling Botswana.
Assistant Minister for State President, Maipelo Mophuting is expected to be guest speaker.
Addressing a press briefing on Tuesday in Gaborone, event organiser, Leatile Mokgale said they were alive to the negative effects of GBV on the nation as evidenced by the growing statistics.
Mokgale said that Tebogo Moloi as the main act of the concert, wanted to pay homage to Batswana from whom he enjoyed great support.
The line up includes local Gospel music artists, Sesame, Ounah, Obakeng Sengwaketse, Johnson Pheto and Phempheretlhe.
Supporting Moloi from his home country will include, Matema, Dumi Mkokstad, Sbu Noah, Lebo Sekgobela, Omega Khunou and Sello Malete.
He said they had not planned anything for children but would look into having a kiddies flank.
Mokgale said they chose to host the show at Molapo Piazza because it was a semi outdoor and indoor and had an attractive capacity since it was not constrained to numbers.
For his part, Moloi said he was impressed with the passion Batswana showed him and the support he enjoyed from them.
Coming to Botswana, he said, was not about money but prayer and motivation for Batswana to become recording artists.
He said that doing collaborations would take Batswana further and grow the industry.
“The show is made possible by Batswana. If you were to check Sesame in the platforms, you would appreciate the hard work that she puts in. There is a lot of talent in Botswana and the local artists must wake up and realise their potential. It is true that starting anything in life may not bear a lot of fruit but fruits are born with endurance. I am grateful for the hardworking team,” he said.
Sesame said she was grateful for being included in the lineup yet again.
“It is my second call to be in the lineup for Tebogo Moloi invasion and being called again to come and minister is a very big opportunity for me. It shows Moloi has found something intriguing in my performance and wants Batswana to see the same,” she said. ENDS
