Boago Olerilwe, aka DJ Bistar who doubles as an event organiser will host a Back to School event at Warmhands Gardens in Kanye on Saturday.

The event symbolises the re-opening of schools while reminding everyone that education has no age limit. 

“We gather to reflect on the importance of education,” said DJ Bistar and encouraged revellers to honour the theme and come clad in school uniforms or even graduation gowns. 

This year’s event will feature DJ Robotic Ofc, with MC Theo as the ‘monitor’ and April Gates as the ‘monitress’. 

The line-up also features choreographers and DJs, including Sparkz Lehipi, DJ Leb Gee, DJ Shadik, Dejfro Srama, First Lady and DJ Zaski.

DJ Bistar, a resident DJ at Kanye Festive Xplosion (KFX) desires to see Back to School being an annual event. 

“The continuation of the event will depend on the feedback we receive,” he noted.

However, hosting an event in January comes with financial hurdles which DJ Bistar is fully aware of.  

“Many people are recovering from the festive season expenses, making it difficult to sell tickets in large numbers but we have been promoting the event on social media,” he said.

The event is also designed to afford local artistes a platform to showcase their talent. DJ Bistar promised tight security, to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. ENDS
