Reset Refresh Yoga Brunch unwinds

26 Jan 2025

Yownn Yoga hosted its Reset & Refresh Yoga Brunch at Gaborone’s Ate@Design on Saturday to offer attendees an opportunity to realign their energies and step into the new year with renewed focus and purpose.

Certified yoga instructor, Bonolo Phaladze shared that the brunch was part of Yownn Yoga’s mission to promote sustainable wellness practices.

The day began with a grounding yoga session that combined Hatha and Yin styles, designed to accommodate both beginners and advanced practitioners.

The session focused on relieving stress and restoring energy through mindful breathing and movement.

“This was about creating a space where participants could reconnect with their bodies and find calm in the midst of life’s daily demands,” she said.

She said the serene setting added to the experience, with its stylish and tranquil ambiance complementing the theme of relaxation and inspiration.

Phaladze hoped that attendees would leave feeling re-energised and inspired to maintain balanced lives.

She added that the event was just a tip of an iceberg as their goal was to continue creating spaces where wellness felt accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Following the yoga session, transformation coach Tshepo Ntshole took the attendees into the art of journalling, a practice she described as a gateway to self-awareness and personal growth.

She guided participants through prompts designed to spark introspection and clarity. Among them were statements such as, “I have decided to eat well because…” and “This year, my joy involves…” which encouraged attendees to explore their intentions for the year.

Ntshole also touched on how journaling could help individuals face challenges with courage, prompting participants to reflect on, “Facing my fear looks like…” She concluded the session by helping them visualise the future they desired, asking, “In 2025, my life feels…”

She noted that journaling was more than just writing, but was a space for individuals to process emotions and create actionable plans.

The final part of the event was led by life coach Nana Kgosidialwa, who facilitated a vision-boarding session.

She emphasised the importance of focusing on a few meaningful aspirations rather than overloading vision boards with numerous goals. Kgosidialwa explained that vision boarding was most impactful when it aligned with one’s holistic well-being which is body, soul, and spirit.

“This is your life. You can change your mind, start over, and design the future you want,” she said.

She guided participants through an exercise that allowed them to identify and visualize their dreams, reminding them of the importance of dreaming big while setting realistic and purposeful goals to achieve their goals.

The brunch concluded with participants mingling over a wholesome meal paired with mimosas, creating an intimate atmosphere for meaningful conversations and organic connections.

One of the participants, Praise Bird said the Reset & Refresh Yoga Brunch left her not only refreshed, but equipped with tools to navigate her journey with mindfulness and intention, embodying the essence of new beginnings.  ENDS
