Botswana and eSwatini have a history of strong ties and relations, which serve as a foundation to build for the future.
Speaking during a courtesy call from the visiting eSwatini delegation at the Office of the President yesterday, President Advocate Duma Boko said the two countries shared ties that went beyond working together since the people of the two nations were interconnected.
“We have a lot of Nguni people here,” President Boko said, adding that people of the two countries intermarried, which further strengthened their ties.
Also, he said the two countries worked together in establishing the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland (BOLESWA) in their quest for educational development.
Also, the President said trade between the two countries had grown over the years, although at times it dropped.
