Mahlogonolo Mokaleng and Onneile Molefhi have respectively won the coveted Miss Popularity and Top Model awards at the Miss Pitsane Fashion Show on Saturday.

Held under the theme, Voices of the Unheard, the fashion show was a preliminary event for the Miss Pitsane pageant due to be held next year in March. It treated residents of Pitsane and surrounding areas to a plethora of entertainment as contestants battled to win the hearts of judges.

Pageant director, Bokang Motswedi told BOPA in an interview that the competition had initially attracted 15 submissions, but 10 of the contestants later withdrew for various personal reasons leaving behind a total of five finalists. Motswedi said the five finalists would compete head-to-head for the coveted title of Miss Pitsane on March 1 next year.

"The fashion show event was aimed at generating funds for Miss Pitsane Grand Finale pencilled for next year. The event does not only offer a set of fun games but also presents an opportunity for vendors to sell goods and services to attendees,” Motswedi added.

He further highlighted the importance of supporting such initiatives as they nurtured talent, creativity, growth and also fostered collaborations within the fashion and beauty industry.

He pointed that preparations for the event were challenging due to shortage of funds. ENDS
