Kanye Festive Xplosive set to deliver unforgettable experience

15 Dec 2024

The much-anticipated 4th annual Kanye Festive Xplosive (KFX) promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

Taking place on 21st December 2024 at the stunning Mmakgodumo Gardens, this year’s event is set to elevate the entertainment scene in Kanye to new heights.

Organiser and promoter, Fortunate Mongwaketse is thrilled about the upcoming festival. With early bird and promotional tickets already sold out, he’s confident that this year’s KFX will be a massive success.

He notes that many ticket buyers have a tendency of purchasing tickets when event date was closer, but encourages everyone to secure their tickets early to avoid missing out.

“The 4th edition of KFX will undoubtedly be our best yet,” Mongwaketse said, adding that the event will feature Karishma, the South African sensation, as the headliner.

The star-studded line-up also includes top international acts such as Maglera Doe, Trompies, Scott Maphuma, and Mthunzi.

On the local front, revellers should expect performances from Juu Matere, Chokoma, Lioness Ratanang, Baxon, Ozzy F Teddy, award-winning Tinerman Kwaito, Sparkz Lehipi, and MC Khumo Kgwaadira. To further support local talent, 10 top DJs from Kanye will also grace the stage.

Tickets can be purchased at Liquarama outlets nationwide and at Spar stores in Kanye, Mongwaketse confirmed.

Reflecting on previous years’ challenges, Mongwaketse acknowledged parking issues at Mmakgodumo Gardens due to the venue’s unique geography. Ambulances, in particular, struggled to reach the exits in emergency situations, he said. However, this year, event organisers have ensured a more spacious parking area to streamline vehicle and pedestrian movement.

“We’ve taken steps to ensure that the security is tighter too, with Group 4 Security (G4S) overseeing the event,” he added.

When asked about the line-up, Mongwaketse explained that while fewer international artists are featured this year, this choice was deliberate due to the high costs associated with booking major stars. Many of the top acts are expected to perform at Makhadzi’s event scheduled for the same date as KFX, making them more expensive and logistically challenging to book.

“We want to avoid any disappointments, such as artists being held up at the border, especially when we’ve already paid their full fee,” he said.

In addition to the stellar line-up, KFX Marketing, and a stage manager, Freddy Rantlheng, well known as Draggie has emphasised on the importance of punctuality.

“We ensure that artists are aware of their time slots a week in advance, and we’re very strict about them sticking to the schedule,” he explained.

Local artists had previously raised concerns about big-name performers arriving late and cutting into their allocated performance time. Draggie reassured that artists are advised to arrive at least an hour before their set time to ensure everything runs smoothlyWith a stellar line-up, improved logistics, and an unwavering commitment to quality, the 4th edition of KFX is set to be an unforgettable celebration of music, culture, and local talent.

"Don’t miss out, secure your tickets now for the biggest entertainment event of the year," Draggie concludes. ENDS
