The In Your Area (IYA) show by Ytv was launched n Gaborone on November 4. 

Produced and presented by Luhle Boitshwarelo, IYA is a lifestyle television showcasing music, fashion, travel, food and film in all areas across Botswana.

Boitshwarelo said the show would give the viewers a perspective of some hidden gems.  Boitshwarelo, who is also a radio presenter at Yarona FM, promised viewers a memorable experience in 2025 with the show as she would be traversing all corners of Botswana giving fans a taste of the entertainment scene in the country. 

Furthermore, the show will give viewers a better view and perhaps understanding of the tourism scene and options to visit locally for tourism pleasure. 

She will engage with patrons at events, and conduct interviews to unpack events and give more information on places showcased in the show. 

Yarona FM station manager, Owen Rampha, encouraged Boitshwarelo to stay authentic and always try new things as she climbs higher in her career and develops it.

An experienced hand at radio himself, Rampha applauded Boitshwarelo for her growth in broadcasting having started as a weekend radio host and eventually graduating to prime time radio. 

The In Your Area lifestyle show is an addition of local shows on Ytv, which make up 50 percent local content. 

Head of sales at Ytv, Kwame Moesi, said their local content has increased from five per cent when the station started to the current 50 per cent in 2024. 

He said they hoped to increase the content in 2025 with more local content, as they were working with local producers to tell more Botswana stories for Batswana. Ytv is available on DStv decoders on channel 291 as well as on free to air decoders. Ends
