Boko promises brighter Botswana

President Duma Boko has promised that his government will create the "Botswana we all desire" with support from the citizens.
Making his first public address, during the inauguration ceremony at the National Stadium in Gaborone this morning, President Boko pointed that a brighter future was possible.
"We will create the Botswana we all desire, I dare say it to you. You have given me strength and hope and I am prepared to return strength and hope to you a thousand fold. So my beautiful and joyous fellow citizens, I say to you dare to dream about a brighter tomorrow and lets walk there together," he said.
The inauguration ceremony at the fully packed National Stadium, was attended by many dignitaries including former presidents Dr Festus Mogae, Lt. Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama and Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi.
Leaders from the SADC region among them presidents Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, Dr Nangolo Mbumba of Namibia and Mr Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia graced the momentous occasion.
South Africa deputy president Mr Paul Mashatile was also among the dignitaries, as well as deputy prime minister of Eswatini Mr Russell Dlamini, deputy prime minister of Lesotho Ms Nthomeng Majara, deputy prime minister of Tanzania Dr Doto Biteko and deputy president of Kenya Mr Kithure Kindika.
Mr Boko said the inauguration colourfully and poignantly demonstrated the human spirit and it's desire to live in dignity, peace and with hope.
"The message I impart is that this is one nation. The message I impart is unity and togetherness. Let's continue to create a history that we will all be proud off," he said.
He urged every citizen to play a role in building the economy.
President Boko said it was with a deep sense of appreciation that he stood before the nation, pointing that the inauguration ushered in a new political dawn. Ends
