The Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) leader, Mr Mephato Reatile says when his party attains power it will go all out to improve Batswana’s living conditions.
Launching the party’s manifesto and parliamentary candidates in Serowe on Saturday, Mr Reatile called upon the electorate to vote for BPF, which he said had their needs at heart.
Come October 30 general elections, he said, the country should experience change of leadership
He described BPF candidates as capable and trustworthy individuals who would drive the country’s developmental agenda.
‘We need to rise above the rest and prove our worth’’, Mr Reatile added.
He said the party intended to address the high unemployment level as well as improve workers’ welfare. Among other things, Mr Reatile said, there was need to address health and education crisis as well as inadequate infrastructure and poverty.
He said BPF guaranteed good governance and prosperity. Citizens, he said, needed to be protected and educated so that they could freely participate in a democratic state.
Procurement laws would be enhanced to close loopholes that might lead to corruption and mal-administration, Mr Reatile said.
The BPF manifesto provides a roadmap by which a range of reforms will be implemented not just changing the bureaucratic mentality, but changing the way systems operate from constitutional reforms, land, health, agriculture, industrial development, poverty eradication to the foreign policy.
The BPF also intends to enrich and restore order in the cultural heritage in the kgotla system. ENDS
