02 Sep 2024

Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) has presented Mr Ketlhalefile Motshegwa as their prospective parliamentary candidate for Mmadinare constituency.

Presenting Mr Motshegwa to the constituents during his launch on August 31, UDC leader, Advocate Duma Boko urged residents of Mmadinare to vote for Mr Motshegwa in order to experience change.

He described Mr Motshegwa as a hard working man who had the interests of Mmadinare constituents at heart, adding that he symbolised a new beginning and a positive transformation.

The UDC leader also described Mr Motshegwa as a unionist who was conversant with labour issues and ready to tackle labour disputes affecting his constituents.

He urged Mmadinare residents to give him a chance to represent them in Parliament. The UDC leader also informed Mmadinare constituents that his party was the only one that could bring more developments and transform the lives of Batswana for the better.

If voted into power, he said his party would introduce a living wage of P4 000 as well as create 100 000 jobs every year for five years.

The party’s vice president, Mr Ndaba Gaolathe said the UDC had a better economic plan compared to other political parties, and that they would grow the economy of the country.

He said the country was endowed with abundant mineral resources, fertile soils as well as wildlife.

He said the time had come for Batswana to decide their future and build their country, adding that his party was the only one with the capability to address high unemployment, shortage of funds, poverty, slow economic growth as well as poor education.

He accused the BDP of failing Batswana, and that it was upon Batswana to decide whether or not they wanted change.

For his part, Mr Motshegwa urged residents of Mmadinare to vote for him and his council candidates in order to bring changes to the constituency.

He said he was ready to serve the constituents if they gave him the opportunity.

He added that his party was ready to tackle issues affecting marginalised groups such as women, people living with disability and the youth.

He also said he understood issues affecting the constituency and had all that it took to address them. Ends
