President Masisi extends condolences to Namibia

The Minstry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Botswana wishes to inform the public that His Excellency the President Dr. Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi has this morning extended a message of condolences to  His Excellency Mr Nangolo Mbumba, Acting President of the Republic of Namibia following the untimely demise of His Excellency President Hage G. Geingob in the early hours of Sunday 04 February 2024. The condolence message reads as follows;

"It was with deep shock and great sadness that I learnt of the untimely demise of my beloved brother, His Excellency Dr Hage G. Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia in the early hours of this morning.

I wish to extend to you, and through you, to Her Excellency Mrs Monica Geingos, the entire family of His Excellency President Geingob, the Government and the people of the Republic of Namibia, and SWAPO Party, our sincerest condolences at this hour of greatest need.

His Excellency Dr Geingob was a true friend of Botswana. We deeply value his support in building an extraordinary partnership our two countries and people enjoy today. We honour his legacy, mourn his passing and remain committed to our steadfast friendship and cooperation.

Your Excellency and Dear Brother, we stand in solemn solidarity and pray for unity in mourning and calm as always to see us through this challenging time. Our thoughts and prayers will always be with you, His Excellency Dr Geingob' family and the entire nation of Namibia, as you go through this difficult time.

May the Lord accept his Soul to rest in eternal peace for all the good he has been to us on earth.
