VP urges Serowe West residents to vote for Dijeng

01 Jul 2023

Vice President Slumber Tsogwane has implored voters in Serowe West to rally behind the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) candidate, Mr Moemedi Dijeng in a by-election slated for July 8.
Speaking during a political rally in Dimajwe, in the Serowe West constituency on Thursday, Mr Tsogwane said voting for the BDP candidate would be an endorsement of government initiatives and programmes in the constituency.
He said BDP campaigned on a platform of a stable political environment, peace, tranquility, harmony, democracy and access to quality social services such as healthcare and education.
Mr Tsogwane, who is also BDP’s chairperson, disclosed that Mr Dijeng was nominated to represent the party because he was blessed with numerous capabilities that would complement the party’s current representatives in parliament.
He urged the constituents to cast their votes for Mr Dijeng to ensure access to services and development, pointing out that voting wisely guaranteed a lasting legacy for generations to come.
The by-election comes after a vacancy was declared in Serowe West due to MP Tshekedi Khama’s absence from two consecutive sessions of Parliament.
Mr Dijeng said the onus rested on the people to vote for a party that had their interests at heart, with a record of driving the nation’s development agenda. He said opposition parties had no vision and where there is no vision the people perish. Ends
