Botswana Zambia security meet starts today

The 23rd Botswana and Zambia Joint Permanent Commission on defence and security starts today in Kasane.

A press release from the Ministry of Defence and Security says the three-day commission will commence with a senior government officials’ meeting today, which will be followed by that of ministers on June 29.

The release says defence and security minister, Mr Kagiso Mmusi will lead the Botswana delegation, while Minister Ambrose Lufuma will lead that from Zambia delegation.

It says the commission, held under the theme: Crossing the Bridge to Enhance Partnership in Defence and Security, will discuss issues of state, defence and public security.

The commission will also review matters of mutual interest in the areas of defence and security. It will further promote cooperation in pursuit of peace and security in the region, says the release. BOPA
