The Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs, Ms Anna Mokgethi is in New York for the United Nations 66^th   Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66). 

According to a media release from the ministry, Minister Mokgethi will participate in roundtables, as well as attend African Union and Commonwealth meetings. 

She will also give account of the progress Botswana has made in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with particular focus on SDG5, SDG8 and SDG12, says the release. 

It further states that Ms Mokgethi will deliver a statement on behalf of the Landlocked Developing Countries. 

The release says the priority theme of CSW66 is: Achieving Gender Equality and the Empowerment of All Women and Girls in the Context of Climate Change, Environmental and Disaster Risk Reduction Policies and Programmes, with the review theme: Women’s Economic Empowerment in the Changing World of Work. 

The minister is expected back home on March 20. ends
